The Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival returns July 17–19, 2026, bringing together an exceptional group of Canadian authors for a weekend of readings, conversations, and shared literary discovery in one of British Columbia’s most intimate festival settings. Our 2026 lineup is nearly complete and includes Tomson Highway, Susan Juby, Susin Nielsen, Alex Neve, Loghan Paylor, Maria Reva, Wendy Wickwire, writers whose work spans fiction, nonfiction, humour, memoir, Indigenous storytelling, and social justice, and whose voices speak powerfully to the cultural moment we are living in. Workshops leaders include Ian Ferguson, Loghan Paylor and Suzette Mayr. As always, the Festival will offer close, thoughtful encounters between authors and audiences, with events designed around dialogue, curiosity, and community connection.
