Denman Island Information

When you leave the ferry, drive up the steep hill and at the top, turn left into the village centre.  On your right you will see the Arts Denman building (yellow house) and General Store.  The Activity Centre is on your left past the church, the hardware store, craft shop and Abraxas Books & Café.  The school, which is the venue for Thursday workshops, is across the street.  The Community Hall is just beyond the school.

If you leave your car at Buckley Bay* and travel on foot, there is an alternative option to walking up the ferry hill to the village centre.  When you walk past the terminal buildings you should see, on your left, a steep staircase.  This leads to Nelson Crescent from where the Activity Centre is a .3k walk.  (The distance via the road from the ferry terminal to the Activity Centre is .6k)

*Buckley Bay - There is very limited parking at Buckley Bay terminal itself.  Some people park on the empty property across the highway, slightly towards the south (not recommended for overnight parking.)

Note re ferry schedule:  During the summer the ferry is frequently in shuttle mode, i.e. it goes back and forth depending on traffic, and is therefore off schedule.  If planning to attend a specific event, we recommend you plan to arrive at Buckley Bay early.
